Let us know about the hose clamp(一)
What is a hose clamp used for?
A hose clamp or hose clip or hose lock is a device used to attach and seal a hose onto a fitting such as a barb or nipple.
How do I know what size hose clamp I need?
To determine the size needed, install the hose (or tubing) on the fitting or pipe (which expands the hose), measure the outside diameter of the hose, then select a clamp that accommodates that diameter in about the middle of its range.
Do hose clamps go bad?
Clamps – as we know, radiator hose clamps can fail over time, and especially cause damage to the radiator hoses. These radiator hose clamps should be analyzed and possibly replaced when you are doing this process. Bad clamps can cause engine failure due to overheating.
Do spring hose clamps wear out?
But most important spring clamps continue to apply pressure as the rubber of the hose dries out and shrinks over time making the joint last much longer without maintenance. Corrosion can be in an issue for poorly coated spring clamps. Care must be taken to place a clamp back in the same place on an older hose.
How to Use Hose Clamps
- Expand the hose clamp by turning the screw counterclockwise. Make it large enough to slide over the hose.
- Slide the hose clamp over the hose.
- Slide the hose over the fitting that you want it to attach to.
- Slide the hose clamp over the joint between the fitting and the hose.
